What is Skin Icing?

Discovering the use of ice cubes too for spot-on treatments for breakouts was instrumental in keeping my skin healthy however when I implemented it into my overall skincare regime that was a game-changer. Ice cubs dramatically improve circulation in the skin. I prefer to use ice cubes (once a week) right after applying my nighttime facial oil. It works because the capillaries restrict and it creates a pulling effect that helps the oils penetrate deeper into your skin.

This idea that ice is good for the skin is not weird. Have you ever been outside on a cold day and you face is ice cold, have you noticed the effect on your skin, clear and flushed.

Benefits of Ice Cubes on the Skin

The benefits of using ice cubes keep your skin healthy and radiant however it also address specific skin issues. Your face has pores that release natural oils and perspiration, thus aiding in keeping it clean. However, if dirt gets accumulated in the pores, it causes pimples and acne. Rubbing an ice cube on your face after washing it helps shrink the pores. I have listed other ways that ice is great for your skin:

How to Skin Ice

Start your ice facial by thoroughly cleansing the face. I recommend washing your skin via oil cleansing, and not using a harsh cleanser. Next, wrap one or two ice cubes in a soft washcloth, gauze, or other soft cloth (do not use a paper towel).

  1. When the ice begins to melt and the cloth is damp, apply to the face. Hold the ice cube and rub directly on your face in small circular motions all over for several minutes (at least 2-3 minutes), holding and concentrating on areas that are in need the most, pimples, and cyst. If tweezing your chin the morning, it's perfect for swelling after tweezing.

  2. Move the ice cubes gently with circular movements up along the chin and jawline, up the cheeks and along the forehead and along the nose, and take special care underneath the eyes.

  3. Your skin should feel cool, damp, and a bit numb. After, pat dry with a soft towel.

  4. Complete the facial with toner, facial oil, or moisturizer.

Because your skin detoxes at night, morning is a perfect time to ice your skin to get rid of any puffiness that has occurred and it really wakes you up!! Another benefit of icing in the morning before applying any concealer or foundation ensures a smooth makeup application
