NM: Give me a brief history of Belladonna Day Spa
Scott: Belladonna was originally founded in the mid-1990s on St. Charles. The original owner retired in 2016. Under our new ownership, we have grown significantly in both services provided and retail offerings.
NM: Belladonna is the premier day Spa in New Orleans. What do you think sets Belladonna apart from the competition?
Ellen: Our campus sets us apart in that we have significant retail space, laser and esthetics spa services, spa suites at Belladonna, and Be Fit (our gym).
NM: Belladonna, has recently completed a renovation of its spa and nail space. What were you trying to accomplish in terms of guest experience?
Scott: Obviously, the building needed a facelift. The new look is a part of the rebranding under our new ownership. We wanted to create a luxury spa experience for our customers by incorporating green design elements, relaxing spa suites and a range of amenities. In addition, our new laser services will begin this month. Stay tuned.
NM: The retail space is filled with local and unique makers. What is your thought process when deciding what brands to bring to Belladonna?
Ellen: My goal is to provide a shopping experience like no other, exclusive clothing, jewelry gifts, and art with an emphasis on local artists.
NM: Besides the traditional spa services, what service is unique to Belladonna and what is its benefits to your clients?
Scott: We are the only spa offering a CBD oil upgrade. The benefits of our CBD oil is its ability to decrease localized inflammation and the mitigation of pain.
NM: The holiday season is upon us, does Belladonna have any special events, specials that we should know about?
Ellen: The boutique at Belladonna will be featuring local artist Claire Blue for a trunk show on December 22. Additionally, we will be offering special promotions throughout the holiday season.
NM: What would you like to accomplish at Belladonna in the next five years?
Ellen: We would like to be the premier day spa in New Orleans. We are currently on the best street for local shopping, Magazine, we have a talented and experienced retail and spa team and we stock the best skin care products available. There is no doubt in my mind by the end of 2019 we will have achieved this goal.
