Freret Market is a free market that is held the first Saturday of the month, from September to December (with two markets in December) and in February through March. The market takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot located at Freret and Jena streets, one block from Freret and Napoleon.
In April, our market expands to take up all of Freret Street as we put on the Freret Street Festival, which runs from Valmont to Napoleon with extended hours. The market goes on hiatus during the summer months.
The market is split up along three category lines: food, art, and flea. Besides all of the great shopping every week, the market also hosts local restaurants serving up their unique cuisines, pet adoptions, and live local music.
